136.1 Hz OM Unweighted Tuning Fork
A steady OM tone for attentive listening.
An unweighted 136.1 Hz aluminium fork engraved OM 136.1. With no added tip weights, this version is intended primarily for listening in the air, giving you a clear focus for a short meditation or breathing pause.
What you receive
- One 136.1 Hz OM unweighted tuning fork.
- A storage pouch and rubber mallet are included with each fork.
The OM background & choosing your construction
In Hans Cousto’s modern Cosmic Octave system, approximately 136.1 Hz is calculated by octave-transposing the Earth’s yearly orbital cycle into the audible range. It is a mathematical translation of a cycle, not a claim that the Earth emits this audible tone.
In this modern sound tradition, the tone is associated with heart-centred contemplation. You can use the association as a personal theme for compassion, gratitude or a quiet beginning to your day. It is a symbolic practice, not proof of a physiological effect.
Choose unweighted for a listening-led routine; choose weighted for more emphasis on vibration through handle-tip contact. Start with one activation, listen as the tone fades and breathe naturally rather than following a fixed sound length.
Materials, accuracy & studio care
- One-piece CNC-machined 2A11 aluminium-alloy fork body, with a silver-tone finish.
- Unweighted forks: frequency tolerance within ±1.5 Hz at 20°C.
- Each fork is tuned and frequency-checked before dispatch. Ask our studio about testing if you would like more detail.
Our independent studio coordinates specifications, production, tuning, inspection, engraving and packing. Custom frequencies and quantity orders are welcome; confirm feasibility and timing before purchase.
A simple practice & everyday care
- Hold only the handle. Keep the prongs and any tip weights free.
- Activate with a gentle tap from the included rubber mallet, or a suitable soft activator placed on a stable table. Do not strike the fork on hard surfaces.
- Listen in a quiet space at a comfortable distance. Let the tone fade before repeating.
Keep dry, wipe with a soft cloth and store in the included pouch. Avoid drops, impacts and use on injured or irritated skin. Stop if uncomfortable.
Free engraving & help choosing
Make the fork your own with a name, short inscription or studio logo. Engraving is free and does not change its tuned frequency. Contact us with your text, font and placement; confirm any special requirements before ordering.
